Don't tell anyone. It's not a done deal yet, but I'm told the man who makes our hearts beat fast, aka Johnny Depp, is very close to signing on to an adaptation of Robert C. Wilson's gripping novel Crooked Tree. The book has been described as Jaws meets The Exorcist. And that's accurate, if you also throw in Poltergeist. Yes, it's a dreamy, terrifying blend. Bears attack. A woman is possessed. Native American folklore is key. The book is riveting, I tell you. Depp is a big fan of the book, a source tells E! Online, and he would be playing Axel Michelson, the husband of the woman who becomes possessed. Sounds good to me, and he'd better sign up already—Jeff Daniels, a close friend of the author, is also in the mix. www.eonline.com/movies/reelgirl/index.jsp?cat=7644cccb-100c-48e4-ac2b-29487b8f27f2&categoryName=crooked+tree

It has take me nearly a year to find, buy and read a copy of Crooked Tree. It is a must read! It will make such a fantastic movie! I sure hope it happens!! Words fail me to describe the whirlwind senarios presented in this story of love, mystery, horror and the supernatural. It takes you to scary places that makes it hard to hold on to the book while your eyes race across the pages!! You can't let go.....but you're afraid to hold on!! Haha, Johnny could make this story ring in peoples minds FOREVER!! I will NEVER look at the woods the same way I used to, or bears either!! If you have NOT read this book, find a copy in the library and take a chance, , you won't regret it!! It will THRILL YOU!! And all the while you are reading you will be able to picture Johnny as the hero, Axel, and it makes the story even Better!
